FindaBiz Networking is the Midlands’ premier business support and networking organisation who specialise in making connections. Their objectives to help raise the profile of local businesses across the midlands has seen them build a number of strong relationships and open up new leads and opportunities for their clients.
Here at Expand Digital we worked with FindaBiz Networking to do a full re-brand of their business. We designed the logo, leaflets, business cards and Post cards to create a visual image for their Networking business.
As well as this, we worked with them to create their new website. It was completely redesigned, changing from static to a Content Management System. We feel the new website reflects the objectives of FaB networking, as well as being functional and mobile-friendly.

Due to the sheer volume of media content available to us on a day to day basis, our attention spans have significantly reduced. As a result, many businesses find it difficult to keep the attention of people visiting their website, and experience a high bounce rate. There are ways in which you can reduce this bounce rate, by introducing elements to your website that catch the user’s attention and discourage them from leaving your site, or even improving the usability of your website by introducing much simpler navigation techniques.
Feature videos are a great way to give potential customers an insight into your business’ process/products. With the recent shift towards comparison shopping as opposed to impulse purchases, shoppers regularly search online for reviews and details of products they wish to buy. If you can include featured videos on your website, it may persuade the user to make a purchase.
Testimonials are great to add to your website because they can act as an assurance to the user that the business is reliable. Showing a short quote that testifies the company is important to give it credibility, but showing the details of who made the quote will further reinforce this to the user.
Users are much more likely to be drawn to your webpage if it contains images as well as text. If there is a way to visually represent the information you would like to get across, then the user’s eyes will be instantly drawn to it and it is more likely to stay in their long term memory. The images used must be of high quality and relevant to the supporting text to have the optimal effect on the user. It is important to get the balance between images and text right, as images are not a direct replacement for text, otherwise the user will not have enough information to make a judgement.
Cards are an exciting element that you can introduce to your website. Cards involve compressing an article into a small chunk, normally a featured image and a summary sentence, that the user will click to view the full article. This is a great design feature because you can use the card to grab attention and then the user is more likely to read the article rather than bounce. One of the key advantages to card-based design is that it is great for mobile websites. The cards can be stacked so that they fit the phones aspect-ratio, and they can be clicked easily using the touch screen.
Grabbing the user’s attention is tough. One way of trying to engage with them is to make the website interactive, make them feel like they are going through a journey. An interactive website will be retained in their memory for longer than a still inactive website, and this will increase the chances of them visiting the website again.
There are over 100,000 fonts that exist that can be used for the content of your website. It is important to keep in mind how your font choice will translate to web and whether it is readable. One of the most common decisions for most websites is to choose sans serif fonts rather than serif. The loss of the serifs make it much cleaner and easier to read, particularly with smaller devices.

eCommerce is a rapid growing industry that offers great advantages to small businesses. UK online retail sales exceeded £52 billion in 2015. This is because consumers shopping habits are changing and they are less inclined to buy impulsively, but to compare different products before determining the best for them.
One of the key benefits to eCommerce websites is that they can be open 24 hours a day even during non-working hours. This is important for small businesses as it removes limitations and allows them to process orders made when not in the office. This means that the business can be always active and this is also advantageous for customers as they know they can shop at any time in the day.
More than 73% of the UK population were making online purchases in 2014 (e-marketer) and this figure is only increasing as consumers would rather shop from their homes rather than visiting stores. They can shop outside of opening hours which a big advantage to those who do not have time to shop during the day. Consumers also opt to shop online due to the ability to compare products and prices to ensure that they get the best value for money. The main benefit to ecommerce however is that there are no limitations in regards to the distance of the user. It doesn’t matter where they are in terms of location as they will get their product delivered to their doorstep.
Search engines can improve the user’s experience by personalising their search recommendations to assist them in finding similar products to those they have searched for. This can be beneficial for your business as it can encourage them to add additional items to their order. Not only this, but it allows the customer to compare items to ensure that they will be 100% satisfied with their product or service.
An Adult in the UK will spend an average of 2 hours 26 minutes on their mobile device each day. This is significant as it shows that the internet is increasingly being accessed on the go, and therefore consumers will demand that their order process is quick and easy. It is important that you optimise your transactional website for mobile use as well as desktop use, as both devices will require different features. A website that is fully optimised for mobile use is more likely to appear higher in mobile search engine results. It is crucial that the mobile site is optimised, particularly its usability, as this will increase the likelihood that the user will follow through and complete the transaction.
It is significantly cheaper to set up a commercial business online rather than setting up a store because there are no rent and utility costs, only those to maintain and secure the site. This is advantageous as it allows pricing to become much more competitive with larger businesses.
Selling online is a great option for your business but you must first consider security. Transactions online involve the transfer of sensitive information from your customers and they are trusting you to keep their data protected during the purchase.
If your business is looking to improve the convenience of ordering online, for no monthly cost we can set up an online payment processing system to help your business to securely accept a variety of different payment types.
